Terms of Use

Version 1

1. The service

2-12-10 is a game between friends: every day, a secret storyteller, chosen by the server from the group’s members, picks a photo and writes a clue, the other players submit a photo that could match, then vote to find the storyteller’s photo. It is played in private groups of 4 to 12 players, joined by invitation. After the results of each round, the group’s members can talk in a written discussion, open until the next round starts, and react to the photos played.

Party mode also lets you play live, everyone online at once, around a table or each at home: a host starts a game in party mode, which 4 to 12 players join through a link or a QR code, then starts the rounds one by one. A party-mode game is temporary: it ends when the host decides or leaves, and at the latest at 6 a.m. the next day.

2. Your account

Your account is created without a password and is tied to your device. You can add an email address to recover it if you change phones. You are responsible for the use of your account and device. You must be at least 13 years old to use 2-12-10.

3. Your content

The photos, clues, messages, nickname, avatar and group names you post remain yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license, limited to the time needed to run the service, allowing us to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt, resize, watermark and display this content, solely to provide, maintain, secure and technically develop the service, and only as part of running the service, in particular for the members of the groups and party-mode games it is intended for and, where necessary, for the authorized people in charge of security and moderation.

A message sent in a round’s discussion cannot be edited or deleted by its author. To have it erased, you can write to us or delete your account, which erases all your messages.

You warrant that you hold the rights and permissions needed to post this content and for its use within the service, in particular with regard to copyright, image rights, privacy and the rights of others.

4. Code of conduct — zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for offensive, shocking or abusive content and for abusive behavior. In particular, you must not post or write:

  • sexual, violent, hateful, discriminatory or illegal content;
  • content that harasses, threatens, humiliates or exposes another person, including photos taken or shared without their consent;
  • content that impersonates someone or infringes the rights of others;
  • insulting nicknames, clues, messages or group names.

You must not try to bypass the security of the service, automate its use or disrupt other players’ games.

5. Reporting and moderation

In the app, you can report a photo, a clue, a discussion message, a group name or a player. The reported player is never told who reported them. We review reports as quickly as possible and take appropriate action when necessary: removing the content, resetting a profile, renaming a group or suspending the offending account. Reports that present a serious or imminent risk to a person are handled first.

When a moderation measure is taken against content or an account, we tell the user concerned, where applicable, the reason for that measure.

A group’s owner can also remove a member from the group at any time, and the host of a party-mode game can remove a player from it.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile) or from the Delete my account page. If you own a group, first hand it over to another player. If you host an ongoing party-mode game, it ends. What is erased or kept, and the automatic deletion of inactive accounts, are described in the Privacy Policy.

An account that belongs to no group and creates or joins no party-mode game for one month is deleted automatically.

A group with no activity for two months (no new member, clue, submitted photo or vote) is deleted automatically, along with its rounds, photos, votes and points. Its members are informed by a notification.

The photos played in a party-mode game are deleted when it ends, and the game itself 24 hours later. A round targeted by a pending report is kept, with its photos, until the report is handled. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

In a group too, a photo targeted by a pending report is not deleted when its author leaves the group, when the round is cancelled or when the group is deleted: it is kept for moderation until the report is handled.

We may also suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms.

7. Your personal data

How we process your data is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability and liability

The service is provided as is, free of charge. We do our best to keep it running, without guaranteeing continuous availability. We are not responsible for content created and posted by users, subject to the obligations imposed on us by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, the app will ask you to accept them again.

10. Hosting provider

The app is hosted on Laravel Cloud, in the EU Central region (Frankfurt, Germany). Any other technical providers and data transfers are described in our Privacy Policy.
